Use cases
Research agents and analysts' tools
Ask about a company's risks or results in plain words: the agent reads the Risk Factors, the MD&A or the numbered Items of an 8-K and links the filing each answer came from.
RAG over filings
Clean markdown split by Item, with the accession number, the dates and the links to the document and the filing in every item, ready to chunk and index.
Key figures without parsing XBRL
Revenue, net income, EPS, assets, liabilities, equity, cash, long-term debt and operating cash flow of a 10-K or 10-Q's period, each with its unit, concept and dates.

FAQ
What is charged and what is not?
One filing event per filing delivered. Companies that are not found, filings that cannot be read and filings with none of the Items you asked for are not charged. Set a maximum charge per run and it stops before a filing that would pass it.
Where does the data come from?
Only from the SEC's own free EDGAR APIs (company list, submissions and XBRL company facts) and the filing's main document in the EDGAR archives. Filings are public information, and the source field of every item says so.
Which filings and which parts of them do I get?
10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, newest first, and their amendments if you turn on includeAmendments. Each filing comes split by Item: Business, Risk Factors (1A), MD&A (7) and Financial Statements (8) for a 10-K, or the numbered Items of an 8-K such as 2.02 Results of Operations. Exhibits are not included; filingUrl links to the whole filing.
Can I rely on the markdown and the figures?
They are an automatic conversion of the filing and can contain mistakes, so the original filing is the source of record. If the SEC's figures cannot be read, the filing is still delivered and financialsError says why. Nothing here is investment advice.
Does it follow the SEC's rules for automated access?
Yes. Requests follow the SEC's fair access rules: a declared User-Agent and a low request rate shared by every run. If EDGAR is limiting requests, the item says so and is not charged.
